At 14, Galante was the youngest person ever to head a multi-national canoe safari down the Zambezi River. This is just one of the many examples of Galante's early expeditions. Galante is truly passionate about education and helping people save our most valuable resource-our planet. His hands-on approach with wildlife paired with his scientific background are assets to biological groups world-wide as he usually partners with local groups exploring remote regions. As a conservation expert, he attempts to leave a positive, biological impact no matter if he's searching for fresh-water turtles in Africa or Komodo dragons in Indonesia.
Forrest Galante has caught crocodiles, swam with several species of sharks, photographed venomous snakes, outsmarted a startled hippo, dodged an angry panther and had countless other adventures. He started out his career in high-risk wildlife biology fieldwork, always focusing on animals staring down extinction. His hands-on approach with wildlife, love for nature and extraordinary background eventually led to the development of his own Animal Planet television show, 'Extinct or Alive.' The show follows Galante on expedition as he searchers the earth looking for wildlife he believes have incorrectly been deemed extinct.
